.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1133 PM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025

The forecast remains on track with daily low to medium (20-40%) chances of showers and thunderstorms, mainly midday and into the afternoon along the sea breeze. Moisture is expected to increase a bit late this weekend into next week, which will lead to higher rain chances. Models have backed off slightly from the previous package (as expected) with PoPs generally staying at or below 50% inland.

Temperatures will be warm through the rest of this week, with a slight increase as moisture returns late this weekend into early next week. While highs have not been as high as earlier in the summer, remember to continue to practice heat safety and to look before you lock.

Persistent generally easterly flow across the coastal waters during the past few days has lead to tide levels reaching 1.6-1.7 ft at high tide in Port Aransas. This has resulted in water reaching some of the walkways and approach the dunes overnight, before receding by daybreak. No Coastal Flood Advisory is currently in effect, but conditions will need to be followed closely in case one is required.
