.KEY MESSAGES...

1. Seasonably warm temperatures with dry conditions are in store today through much of the upcoming week.

2. Another low pressure system will bring the next chance for precipitation Friday and Saturday.

&&

.DISCUSSION... Today`s highs are projected to be slightly warmer than yesterday`s, and a warming trend will continue through the middle of the week. Many valley and desert locations will reach the 80`s for at least the next few days, with increasing chances of highs reaching at least 85 degrees in the typical warmest locations by Monday (50-75 percent), which would still be seasonably warm for this time of year. Slightly higher probabilities are shown for Tuesday before lowering a bit for Wednesday and Thursday. Ensemble and deterministic guidance are consistent in terms of showering a ridge of high pressure that will build along the West Coast.

As for later in the week, we continue to see mainly a slight chance (15-25%) for precipitation on Friday into Saturday throughout the reign due to another approaching trough of low pressure from the Pacific Northwest. Much uncertainty remains in terms of timing and track of any moisture that flows into the region. Although, it appears the deeper moisture will be in Southern CA, as well as the deserts of southeastern California into Arizona, while we will be in the western periphery. Thus, we anticipate mainly light precipitation at this time, although we could see slightly higher amounts if any thunderstorms develop.

The latest outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center are now showing chances for below average temperatures at around 40-50 percent and about a 50-60 percent chance of above average precipitation for both the 6-10 and 8-14 day periods.
