A cold front has moved through the region, with much cooler
temperatures across the area this afternoon. Scattered showers
continue across the area early this afternoon. Expect this activity
to continue through the evening hours, with the higher rain chances
across our southern counties. High resolution models have overall
trended drier for the overnight and Sunday time frame. Although some
upper level Pacific moisture is streaming into the area, most of the
moisture associated with former tropical cyclone Lorena ended up
remaining across western Mexico. Still, a few showers and
thunderstorms are possible this afternoon through Sunday, mainly
across our southern counties, which could produce locally heavy
rainfall. Overall though, rain amounts are forecast to remain light
for most locations.
Overnight lows are forecast to drop into the low to mid 60s for most
locations, with plenty of cloud cover expected. Highs on Sunday will
again be below seasonal normals, but several degrees warmer than
forecast highs today. Expect highs in the low to mid 80s for most
locations, with cloudy skies in the morning and some sun expected
during the afternoon hours.

Expect warmer and dry weather and an upper level ridge builds across
the Southern Plains this week. Also, look for mostly sunny skies
each afternoon so it will make it feel even hotter. Highs will be in
the 90s, slightly above normal for this time of year. Overnight lows
will be in the 60s to around 70.

MVFR ceilings are expected to develop across the far southern
terminals (KJCT, KSOA and KBBD) after 10Z, and persist through
the morning hours. Ceilings are expected to lift to VFR this
afternoon. Scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are
possible across the southern terminals again today. Will include
VCSH for now and monitor radar trends through the morning hours
due to coverage uncertainties. Winds will remain light the next
24 hours.
