&&

.SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 232 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Upper ridge will build across the Rockies today, placing West Central Texas in northwest flow aloft. We will see a gradual drying trend as we head into the new work week, however, there is still a chance for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms today and again on Monday, with the best chance south of a San Angelo to San Saba line. NBM POPs seem a bit too high today, so have lowered rain chances some across southern sections, where a 30 to 50 percent chance for precipitation is now expected. Most of this activity will be diurnal in nature, with precipitation diminishing after sunset as daytime heating diminishes. Temperatures will be warmer today, but still below normal, with afternoon highs mainly in the low to mid 80s. Lows tonight will be in the 60s.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Monday through next Saturday) Issued at 1257 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Expect warmer and dry weather and an upper level ridge builds across the Southern Plains this week. Also, look for mostly sunny skies each afternoon so it will make it feel even hotter. Highs will be in the 90s, slightly above normal for this time of year. Overnight lows will be in the 60s to around 70.

.AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 650 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will affect the far southern terminals through the morning hours, with a decrease in coverage expected this afternoon and evening. Some MVFR ceilings will be possible again late tonight into Monday morning across the far southern terminals. Winds will remain light the next 24 hours.
