.KEY MESSAGES...

* Moisture looks to return to the region late next week, bringing increased cloud cover and precipitation chances with it.

.DISCUSSION...through Friday.
Ridging will slowly build in over the region in the wake of the low pressure system responsible for the cooler than normal temperatures of the past few days. As 500 mb heights rise, temperatures will begin to gradually increase as we head into next week with temperatures returning to normal by the middle of the week. In addition to warming temperatures, dry conditions and mild weather are on tap for southern Nevada, northwestern Arizona, and southeastern California through mid-week thanks to the upper-level ridge.
While ridging builds over the area early next week, weak cut-off low will begin to develop off the coast of southern California and the remnant circulation that was formerly tropical storm Mario will continue to drift northwest. By mid-to-late week, moisture from the remnants of Mario will have made it far enough north for moisture to be advected into the Southwestern US by the south-southwesterly upper-level flow resulting from low pressure system off the coast of California. This increase in moisture will result in increasing cloud cover during the day on Wednesday and increasing precipitation chances beginning Thursday. 500 mb heights will fall as the low off the coast of California begins to inch closer to the coast. This will result in cooler than normal temperatures returning to the region as we head into the weekend.
