WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A trough of low pressure will remain over the Silver State tonight through Monday night. Near freezing temperatures are expected in the valleys of Northern and Central Nevada both tonight and Monday night. Take precautions to protect vegetation from freezing temperatures. Here are probabilities of minimum temperatures of 32 degrees or lower for select locations in Northern and Central Nevada on Monday, October 6th, 2025:

Ely - 100% Eureka - 96% Spring Creek - 95% Wells - 90% Carlin - 85% Jackpot - 80% Battle Mountain - 75% Elko - 70% Winnemucca - 70% Owyhee - 55%

A ridge of high pressure will gradually build northward over the Rocky Mountains Tuesday through Thursday. A warming trend is expected Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday afternoon, high temperatures throughout Northern and Central Nevada will be around five degrees above normal for this time of year. Maximum temperatures will remain above seasonal values Thursday afternoon. Monsoonal moisture will begin to move northward into Central Nevada Friday, resulting in a slight chance (10-20%) of precipitation. A trough of low pressure will move eastward across Northern and Central Nevada Saturday, leading to a chance (30-50%) of precipitation.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: High forecast confidence regarding near freezing temperatures in the valleys of Northern and Central Nevada both tonight and Monday night. High forecast confidence in a warming trend Tuesday and Wednesday. Moderate forecast confidence regarding gusty south to southwest winds in Central Nevada Thursday afternoon. Moderate forecast confidence in precipitation chances returning to the forecast both Friday and Saturday.

.AVIATION... VFR conditions will prevail at all terminals for at least the next 24 hours. A cloud deck at around 6,000 feet will erode this afternoon into this evening.

.FIRE WEATHER... Fire weather concerns continue to remain low for the next several days. Temperatures will return to the 70s by mid week and minimum RH values will remain above critical thresholds. Still watching the potential for strong winds and additional precipitation Thursday through the weekend as another upper trough and surface frontal system look to travel across Nevada.
