.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1038 PM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025
Persistent tropical moisture with PWAT values between 1.5-2.3 inches looks to remain across Deep South Texas through the weekend. PWAT values decrease slightly going into next week, remaining around 1.5 to 1.8 inches through mid week. A series of upper level disturbances and forcing along the afternoon sea breeze will likely be able to tap into this moisture, to present a daily chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms through the period. Convection will be most likely along and east of I-69C, though some convection will likely continue further inland at times. The ample moisture could allow some of these showers and thunderstorms to briefly produce heavy rainfall. This could lead to some ponding of water or minor nuisance flooding.
High temperatures look to remain in the 90s through the period, with overnight lows largely remaining in the low to mid 70s, though western portions of the CWA may dip into the upper 60s tonight and Thursday night.
