.KEY MESSAGES...
-  Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms expected today and
   again on Monday across southern sections, with dry conditions
   returning by Tuesday.
-  Sunny and warm conditions expected for Tuesday through Friday.

The frontal boundary that moved through the region over the weekend
has settled in over the Big Bend region and south Texas and should
wash out by late tonight. Lingering rain showers that produced heavy
rain and flooding this morning along and near the I-10 corridor will
continue to dissipate this afternoon.  The high pressure center
located over the Midwest that drove this front should move eastward
through Monday. This should allow southerly flow to set up across
west central Texas overnight and start to bring warm, moist air back
into the region. Given the heavy rainfall that occurred this
morning, a ragged cloud deck should develop over our southern
counties late tonight into tomorrow morning. Some light showers are
possible in the morning for the Edwards Plateau and northwest Hill
Country. By the afternoon any cloud cover should break up, which
should allow high temperatures to climb to the upper 80s and lead to
some better instability. As a result, there are low chances for a
few thunderstorms to occur across our southern counties. However, a
building upper-level ridge should suppress chances for widespread
convection.

(Monday night through next Sunday)

High pressure builds back across the western U.S. for the middle
of next week. This will result in higher temperatures across the
region through the next several days. Highs will return to the
middle 90s area wide along with dry conditions. The GFS and ECMWF
try to develop a closed low pressure system across the western
U.S. by Saturday and Sunday. However, this remains very uncertain
this far out.

Rain and MVFR ceilings for southern locations should dissipate by
22Z with improvement to VFR thereafter. Overnight, patchy MVFR
ceilings look to redevelop between 06Z-10Z. Ceilings look to be
fairly ragged after sunrise but could persist for some locations
through the morning.
