.SYNOPSIS... High pressure and dry conditions will persist through much of the week. There will be a gradual warming trend during this time.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Surface high pressure extends westward into the Ohio Valley this afternoon through tonight. Light easterly winds persist before going light and variable overnight. Skies remain mostly clear through most of the night before some higher clouds move in late due to an upper level shortwave trough. Lows are forecast to be near 50.

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/... Westward extent of surface high pressure continues to dominate the weather over the Ohio Valley Wednesday through Wednesday night. Light easterly flow continues along with a mostly clear skies. Forecast highs are near 80 and forecast lows are in the middle 50s.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/... The middle Ohio River Valley will remain just downwind of a high- amplitude mid-level ridge over the Upper Midwest through much of the extended period. Some slight movement in the orientation of the axis will lead to slow fluctuations in temperature. A very dry atmosphere will stay in place as the general wind flow will have an easterly component through at least Saturday.
Temperatures will start a bit below normal late this week before warming this weekend ahead of a weak cold front sliding south through the Great Lakes.
