.SHORT TERM... (Through Tonight) Issued at 1228 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025
Some patchy fog will be possible during the early morning hours, mainly south of I-40 where the drier air is slower to push into the region and where cloud cover and rain showers hung around into the afternoon yesterday. After any fog clears by mid morning though, a beautiful day is in store across the area the rest of today underneath surface high pressure. Clear skies and light winds along with temperatures in the low to mid 80s will be common. Temperatures will again cool into the 50s tonight with some upper 40s possible across parts of northwest Arkansas.

.LONG TERM... (Monday through Sunday) Issued at 1228 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025
Dry and warm conditions will be the theme through much of the next week across the region. The surface high will slowly shift eastward through the first half of the week, with modest southerly flow at the surface returning across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. That will allow temperatures to warm back to near normal (mid 80s) through the middle part of the week. A weak wave will bring slight chances for a few showers or a thunderstorm to parts of northeast Oklahoma Monday night/Tuesday, but most places look to stay dry at this point. Upper ridging then expands over the Plains through the rest of the work week and into the weekend. A return to above normal temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s will be prevalent for the last half of the forecast period with a dry forecast also prevailing through the rest of the week.
