...New 18Z Aviation Discussion...

.SHORT TERM... (Today through Thursday) Issued at 420 AM EDT Wed Sep 10 2025

At a glance:

- Dry air will continue to keep thunderstorm chances low.

- Temperatures will gradually increase over the next few days.

Winds are expected to chill out today as they shift over to the NW side and any cold air damming influence we had begins to break down. This will signal the beginning of a gradual warming trend through the short term and into the long term. Highs today will be in the low to mid 80s with overnight lows in the 60s. We`ll begin to see more widespread upper 80s tomorrow. Td values are expected to remain in the 50s so once the sun goes down we`ll likely continue to cool off quick. Despite the increasing daytime highs, overnight lows will still fall back into the low 60s.

.LONG TERM... (Thursday night through Tuesday) Issued at 420 AM EDT Wed Sep 10 2025

Key Messages:

- Dry conditions through the long-term.

- Highs in the upper 80s and even low 90s from mid week through the weekend.

Quiescent conditions still expected through the extended period. The persistent broad troughing pattern near the 250mb and weak flow from the mid levels will leave moisture relatively unchanged through the period. Weak mid level flow out of the NW will not be strong enough to promote NW flow storm patterns. PWATs will sit near the 25th to 50th percentiles and near surface high pressure will keep PoPs below 10% across the CWA for the foreseeable future. Dry conditions and clear skies will allow highs from Thursday through the weekend to reach the upper 80s to low 90s. No significant changes expected even beyond the 7 day outlook. Prepare to water outdoor plants and yards to maintain greenery. Persistent dry and warm air could quickly dry us out.
