.SYNOPSIS... A cold front will cross the area today. High pressure will build down from the north tonight and crest over the area Tuesday into Wednesday. High pressure will move east of the area Thursday. Another cold front will cross the region Friday.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH MONDAY/... 645 am update... Quick tweak to sky, temps and dwpts for this morning. Adjusted winds for this afternoon with fropa occurring between 18z-21z.

Prev discussion blo... An upper trough sliding into Labrador will work with high pressure building down from the Hudson Bay region to push a cold front across the area today. There is very little moisture from the front. It`s main effect will be to bring a band of cloudiness from south to north across the area around midday. A few spots may have a brief light shower, mainly across eastern areas from midday into early afternoon. There is some thin cape below 15K ft. Free convection is very marginal but frontal convergence may be enough to produce some small isolated low top convective cells. Kept slight chance thunder mainly over east central areas through early to mid afternoon.

High pressure will build in from Quebec tonight bringing clearing and a moderately chilly night. Lows will range from the low 40s north with a few upper 30s in the colder valleys, to the low 50s Downeast.

High pressure building over the area will bring a sunny, dry day on Monday with highs mainly in the low 70s across the area. Winds will be light NW.

&&

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/... Pseudo Rex block setting up at the beginning of the period with closed low over sern U.S. and H5 ridge over the Great Lakes. CWA will experience nw flow aloft with broad sprawling high at the surface. For the weather Mon night through Tue night this means near/below normal for lows and above normal for highs with clear skies and light winds expected. Patchy valley fog can be expected Monday night and again Tuesday night with fairly stagnant dewpoint temps.

&&

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... Closed low begins to eject out by Wednesday morning as compact vort max drops into the northern Plains. Sfc high pressure moves offshore on Wednesday as sfc low and associated cold front drops south toward CWA. Area will remain in between both systems Wednesday and Wednesday night with sunny skies on Wednesday giving way to increasing clouds overnight. Maxes on Wed expected to be well above normal for all inland locations. Yet another round of valley fog expected Wed night with mins warmer due to southerly flow bringing higher dwpts to the region.

Upper low ejecting into srn New England may bring showers to coastal areas Thursday afternoon and evening. At the same time the cold front will drop toward the area though guidance differs on when fropa may occur. Operational models and ensemble means, including most of their respective members, bring fropa through late Thursday night and Friday morning. Temps drop to below normal values following fropa through next weekend. Cannot rule out another dry frontal passage with some ensemble members showing < 0.10 inches total from now thru the end of the week.

&&
