A few sprinkles remain possible this afternoon across portions of the area. A weak shortwave moving through the region may kick off a few additional sprinkles this evening. Expect temperatures to be primarily in the low to mid-80s this afternoon.
Thursday and Friday, a ridge sets up over the Great Plains with a trough over the West Coast. Expect a gradual warming trend with temperatures returning to the upper 80s to low 90s Friday afternoon. Dry conditions will persist during this timeframe.
Friday night, the trough digs southeast, amplifying the ridge and pushing it east. Southwest flow will return to the area Saturday along with a tightening pressure gradient. Saturday will be windy with southerly winds around 25-30 mph and a few gusts up to 40 mph. The trough will lift northeast through the day, bringing some weak forcing to the region. A few showers may kick off in the evening and overnight.
A cold front swings south through the region overnight, bringing cooler temperatures to the region by Monday and chances for showers and a few isolated thunderstorms.
