.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1138 PM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025
An eastern states upper trof lifts well off to the northeast through Sunday while an upper ridge builds from the central states into the interior eastern states where it remains roughly in place into Tuesday. A surface ridge builds into much of the eastern states then for the most part remains over the eastern CONUS going into early next week. Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine (PTC 9) is meanwhile anticipated to move across the central and northwestern Bahamas on Sunday and Sunday night, then approach the southeast U.S. coast early next week. Please see the National Hurricane Center for the latest information on PTC 9. This pattern promotes dry conditions over the forecast area through Wednesday. Going into the remainder of next week, an upper trof looks to develop over the southeastern states, and a surface ridge will be in place over the eastern states. Dry conditions continue over much of the forecast area Thursday and Friday except for small rain chances returning to coastal areas. Saturday will see some modest improvement in rain chances over the southern portion of the area while dry conditions continue further inland. Highs will be mostly in the upper 80s to around 90 through Tuesday, then trend cooler to the upper 70s/lower 80s by Friday. Saturday will see highs from 80 to 85. Lows through Tuesday night range from the mid 60s inland to near 70 at the coast, then trend cooler with lows for Thursday night and Friday night ranging from the upper 50s well inland to the mid 60s at the coast. A low risk of rip currents continues through Wednesday, then a moderate risk follows for Thursday, potentially becoming high Thursday night. /29
