.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:
- Warm and Dry Through Thursday
- Cooler and Breezy to end the week
- High Uncertainty Early Next Week: Wide range of possibilities, from a return to warm and dry conditions to a cooler, wetter pattern.
In the short term, expect cool starts to the day and warmer than normal afternoons, with little to no wind. West winds become more prominent Thursday and Friday as a dry trough flattens the ridge. In response to the lowering of atmospheric heights, temperatures cool but remain just slightly above normal for this time of year.
Over the weekend the ridge rebounds, IE atmospheric heights increase, and temperatures warm 4 to 8 degrees as well as winds becoming terrain driven and lighter.
Looking ahead to early next week, forecast uncertainty becomes very high. There is significant disagreement among weather models for the Monday-Tuesday timeframe. Some models keep our region in a dry and unseasonably warm pattern. In contrast, other models, particularly some AI-driven guidance, suggest a much cooler and wetter solution. For now, the official forecast leans toward the drier, warmer trend, but this could change significantly in the coming days.
