.SYNOPSIS...
Outside of a brief, low chance of rain across the Mid Hudson
Valley and western New England this evening and overnight, a
prolonged period of dry weather is favored across the region
through the middle of next week with high pressure building into
the region.

.DISCUSSION...
Key Messages:
- Low chance of rain showers (20-30%) Saturday night/early
  Sunday mainly south/east of Albany, otherwise mainly dry
  conditions through late next week.
- Above normal temperatures through Tuesday, trending to below
  normal by mid/late next week.
As of 130 AM...03z surface analysis depicted a broad area of
high pressure stretching form the Great Lakes into the Ohio and
Mississippi River Valleys. A stationary front was located across
northern New York and New England, with another across the
Southeast into the Chesapeake Bay. Temperatures across the
region at this hour were in the mid 50s (terrain) to around 60
(valleys).
For today, dry conditions with a mix of sun and clouds are initially
expected with the high pressure just to the west of the region.
Any breaks of sunshine will fade as clouds increase this
afternoon ahead of an approaching shortwave from the southeast
U.S.. Temperatures will remain above normal for this time of
year, with PM highs ranging from the upper 60s (terrain) to
upper 70s (valleys).
For tonight, the aforementioned shortwave will approach the
region from the south, and is progged to be centered over the
Mid Atlantic and southern New England tonight. CVA accompanying
the shortwave and moisture in place will be enough to drive
a brief, light stratiform rain mainly across the Mid-Hudson
Valley and western New England this evening into tonight, with
dry conditions expected elsewhere. Any rain that falls will be
light, with expected amounts remaining under a tenth of an inch.
Lows will remain mild in the low 50s (terrain) to near 60
(valleys).
For Sunday through mid next week, mid and upper level ridging will
become more entrenched across the Great Lakes into the Northeast,
promoting a prolonged stretch of dry weather with strong surface
high pressure building into southern Ontario and Quebec by next
Tuesday/Wednesday. In addition, a reprieve of our above normal
temperatures will arrive Wednesday as a cold front passes through
the region late Tuesday. Highs initially will be in the 60s/70s
with low 80s in the valleys Sunday, cooling down by Wednesday
into the 60s in valleys and 50s across higher terrain. Overnight
lows will cool into the 30s to lower 40s, though some 20s will
be possible across the southern Adirondacks/southern VT.

.AVIATION /06Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
We start the TAF period with a variety of flying conditions as
patchy fog continues to develop this morning. Conditions continue to
fluctuate between at KGFL with LIFR/IFR conditions in TEMPO groups
through 12z with VFR/MVFR conditions in the prevailing group. For
KALB, mentioned BCFG in a tempo group from 10z to 13z as well as 6
miles in mist as confidence decreased to include mention of fog so
kept VFR conditions in the prevailing group. For KPSF, while we
start the TAF period with VFR conditions, patchy fog development
through 12z still has moderate confidence in occurring so continued
mention in TEMPO groups. For KPOU, high level clouds are moving
through helping with patchy fog development, but once these clouds
clear then fog can re-develop and bring MVFR conditions through 12z.
After 12z, VFR conditions return through the end of the TAF period.
Northwest to southeast light winds up to 5 knots continue throughout
the TAF period.
