-Drier conditions and seasonable temperatures through the
 weekend with cool mornings and afternoon highs from the mid 80s
 to low 90s

.SHORT TERM (THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT)...
The cold front is now south of the area with only some lingering
showers remaining along the Rio Grande and over Coastal Plains early
this morning. Low rain chances continue through the morning for
scattered post frontal showers mainly south Highway 90. Skies will
clear from north to south today with mostly sunny skies expected
this afternoon. Today will be notably cooler for many locations,
though afternoon highs will still be warm peaking from the mid 80s
to low 90s. It will feel a bit more like Fall Friday morning with
lows in the 60s. Light wind and clear to mostly sunny skies are seen
Friday as ridging builds over the area.

.LONG TERM (SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY)...
Mid-level ridging builds over the region this weekend keeping a dry
forecast in place for South Central Texas. Cool mornings and warm
afternoons are expected each day with highs from the mid and upper
80s over portions of the southern Edwards Plateau and Hill Country
to the low 90s elsewhere. An upper low over the southern
California/Arizona border this weekend will open into a trough and
move near the area early next week. A few models bring some
precipitation into the region with this feature but the majority
only show increased cloud cover over the area. For now, have
continued the dry NBM forecast through mid-week.

.AVIATION (12Z THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY)...
Convection has shifted well to the south of the terminals so a
VFR sky is all that is left to consider. Overnight radar picked
up a few weak showers on the outskirts of the DRT and SSF
vcntys, but mainly virga is expected. The winds will remain
N/NE through the rest of the TAF periods, save for DRT which
could some SE wind returning as early as 00Z Friday.
