.KEY MESSAGES...
- Another cooler than average and refreshing morning expected Wednesday
- Primarily rain free through the next week with above average afternoon highs and seasonable mornings
&&
.SHORT TERM (THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT)...
An abnormally dry airmass, featuring well mixed afternoons, will remain across the region through the period. This results in warm but less humid afternoons and another cool, refreshing start to Wednesday. The winds will remain light from the east and east- northeast at least into Wednesday. The winds look to then become more southeasterly and a little stronger from late Wednesday into Wednesday night as surface high pressure becomes a little more displaced/diffuse to our northeast. With a little higher moisture content within the southeast flow, expect for the low to trend milder into Thursday morning, closer to seasonal average.
&&
.LONG TERM (THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY)...
The benign weather continues through the long term period as mid- level ridging settles over the region, initially part of the Omega Block pattern. Otherwise, surface high pressure remains displaced to the east-northeast and helps result in a continued light to moderate southeast low-level flow. There could be enough low-level moisture and lift at times with the sea breeze for some lower end PoPs (15-20%) within our far southern and southeastern most areas. Otherwise, most locations will stay rain free with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. The afternoon highs will continue to run a bit above average while overnight lows remain seasonable.
&&
.AVIATION (18Z TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY)...
VFR flying conditions will prevail through Wednesday afternoon. We saw some MVFR skies over DRT where low level moisture is stacking up over the higher terrain. However, NE to E winds should continue to promote drier air across the region, so few stratus are expected for Thursday morning. At the I-35 sites, light VRBL winds will prevail, but with mostly an E/ENE flavor. Then a more E/SE wind is expected to trend over the daytime Wednesday.
