.UPDATE... Issued at 634 PM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025

The cold front has pushed south and east of Middle TN and much cooler air has built in. Highs today only made it into the mid 60s to lower 70s after seeing mid 80s to lower 90s Friday. Cloud cover behind the front is finally exiting the region and western portions of the area will get to enjoy some sunshine before the sun sets, eastern areas won`t be as lucky but will clear out later this evening. Lows tonight will be chilly falling into the upper 40s to lower 50s. We will have to watch out for some patchy fog mainly after midnight. The highest probabilities for fog on the HREF are south and east of Nashville. Great weather tomorrow as high pressure builds in from the Plains.

&&

.SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Sunday) Issued at 1113 AM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025

Post-frontal light to moderate showers will continue over the next few hours, gradually diminishing from west to east this afternoon. Low stratus clouds will plague the area through tonight, keeping temperatures even cooler than originally forecast. The HREF is only giving a 30% chance of exceeding 70 degrees at Nashville today, so have brought highs down for this afternoon. For context on how powerful this cold front is, the normal high temperature at Nashville for today is 87 degrees! As far as any records go, it looks like we will stay several degrees warmer than the current overnight low record for Nashville (forecast: 54, record: 49). North-northwesterly flow is bringing cooler, drier air in and keeping a steady breeze in place with sustained speeds near 10 mph. Winds will calm and clouds will clear tonight with lows dipping into the 50s. Areas of patchy fog will be possible.

Troughing remains over the area Sunday, though high pressure starts to gradually build from west, warming temperatures back near 80 degrees.

.LONG TERM... (Sunday Night through next Saturday) Issued at 1113 AM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025

High pressure will continue building in from the west and this feature will keep things dry and warm next week. Temperatures will slightly increase each day to eventually rise back up into the 90s by next weekend. Rain chances currently look slim to none over at least the next 7 days.

.AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 633 PM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025
