High pressure is gradually building back in across the region. This means hotter and drier weather is expected for the remainder of today and tomorrow. Highs will in the upper 80s to middle 90s through Wednesday. Otherwise, mostly sunny skies and dry conditions can be expected.

Upper ridging with dry and warm conditions will continue into early next week. High temperatures will be 2 to 3 degrees warmer in the lower to mid 90s. A stronger lee trough will bring higher winds in the 10 to 20 mph range this weekend in the Big Country, along with with warmer nighttime lows in the lower 70s. Lows to the south will be in the mid and upper 60s.

VFR conditions and generally clear skies are expected through the next 24 hours. South to southeast winds are initially somewhat gusty early this evening, but wind speeds will decrease toward sunset. Winds on Wednesday will be similar to today, with south- southeast winds increasing to 8-10 knots by mid-to-late morning and continuing through the afternoon. Gusts to 17-18 knots are possible at times, mainly at KABI and KSJT.
